My first server rack cable management disaster at McKinley Middle School

Last Tuesday I had to rerack a whole server at my school's IT closet after a teacher accidentally unplugged the wrong power cord. Three years of tangled cables from the previous tech made it impossible to trace anything. I spent 6 hours color coding and labeling every single line with a label maker I borrowed from the office. Has anyone else dealt with a mess where you just have to start from scratch?

Man, 6 hours just for labeling sounds like a lot when you could have probably just spent an hour with a cable tester and some zip ties to get it functional. Not saying it wasn't a mess, but sometimes people overthink these things.

Heard some network guy say labeling saves hours later when something breaks.

Did you actually see the before photo or just guessing it wasn't that bad?
