Just wasted $28 on a parking app that didn't work at the downtown station lot, and now I have a ticket too.
The app said my payment went through, but the city's system never got it, so I'm out the parking fee plus a $45 fine for something that wasn't my fault.

Come on, the city's system is the official record, not some app. You should've checked the meter too.

You said it wasn't your fault, but the city will still say you're responsible for the ticket. You can try to appeal it with your app receipt.
