Filming my dives as a hobby flagged an issue before it got bad
I got into underwater videography just for kicks on my days off. Started bringing my cheap camera along on commercial inspection dives too. Last job, I was looking at some bridge supports and thought everything was clean. Checked the footage that night and noticed a piece of rebar sticking out where it shouldn't be. Went back the next day and fixed it real quick. Now my whole crew does a quick video scan on tricky spots. It's a simple trick that costs nothing extra, lol.

How often does video catch what you miss live?

But honestly, video messes up more than people admit. The camera angle is NEVER right, or it cuts out at the key moment. Live experience just hits DIFFERENT, no replay can match that.
