Appreciation post: the diner on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie lets people nurse one cup for 4 hours
Stopped at a Greek diner off Route 9 in Poughkeepsie on a Tuesday morning to kill time before a meeting. I grabbed a booth in the corner and noticed six other people spread out with laptops, notebooks, and one guy with a whole drafting table setup. Nobody got side eye from the staff. The waitress just kept refilling our cups and never once dropped a check on the table. I ended up staying 4 hours and spent $6 total on coffee and a bagel. There is no wifi password posted anywhere, which honestly felt kind of freeing. Has anyone found other spots that let you camp out like that without the pressure to keep ordering?
A whole drafting table setup at a diner booth is wild, that guy basically moved his office in and nobody blinked. The part that gets me is the waitress never dropping a check, cause most places I know start hovering after like 45 minutes. That kind of trust is rare and I would tip heavy just for the peace of mind.
