Tried a pour-over at a tiny coffee shop in Austin and it wrecked my whole routine
I stopped into a place called Third Coast Coffee off South Congress last Saturday. Ordered their single-origin Ethiopian and watched the barista do a slow pour-over taking almost 4 minutes. The flavor was way cleaner than my usual drip machine at home. Now I'm second guessing my whole setup. Anyone else have a random coffee experience that messed up your normal routine?

I used to roll my eyes at pour-over people but I get it now.

Man, that exact same thing happened to me a couple months back. I stopped into this little spot in Denver called Huckleberry Roasters and watched the barista do a v60 pour over with a Kenyan bean. It took forever but the flavor was so bright and clean compared to my old Mr. Coffee drip machine I had been using for years. I mean, I literally went home that weekend and ordered a gooseneck kettle and a ceramic dripper because I couldn't shake how good it was. Now I'm that guy spending 15 minutes on my morning coffee and my wife thinks I've lost it. It's not even about being fancy or whatever, it's just that one pour over ruined regular drip coffee for me completely.

Man that's exactly what happened to me after I tried a pour over in Austin last year... couldn't go back to regular drip for weeks. The Ethiopian stuff they use just hits different when it's done slow like that. I ended up buying a cheap plastic v60 and a regular kettle and honestly it's still worth the extra 10 minutes every morning.
