Just realized those cheap blade sharpeners are actually legit
I was super skeptical about those pull-through sharpeners for like 2 years, figured they'd ruin my edges. Finally grabbed a $12 one from a hardware store in Austin last month and my chisels have never cut cleaner. Anyone else come around on a tool they used to hate?

lol yeah I was the same way, figured they were just gonna chew up my blades but now I use mine way more than I'd like to admit. Guess I owe that $12 thing an apology.

I grabbed the Smith's $10 model from a local hardware store and now my kitchen knives feel sharper than when they were new. I mean, it's definitely not a whetstone replacement, but for quick touch-ups between real sharpenings it's actually surprising how much better your edge stays.

Next thing you know we'll all be giving up our whetstones for $10 pull-through sharpeners...
