TIL my electric bill was 30% lower this month because of a simple change

I got a smart thermostat for my apartment in Denver about three months ago. I finally looked at the energy report from my utility company today, and it said I used 30% less power for heating compared to the same time last year. That's a huge drop just from letting the system turn itself down when I'm at work or asleep. It really shows how small tech can make a real dent. Has anyone else seen a big drop from something like this?

Wish I had the same luck lol. My power company gave me a free smart thermostat last year and honestly, I haven't noticed any change on my bill. It still feels crazy high every winter. Maybe my old place is just drafty or the system is inefficient, but the tech itself didn't fix that. Sometimes I wonder if those reports just compare you to an average that was already high.

Honestly thought those smart thermostats were just a gimmick for a long time. Seeing your numbers kinda makes me reconsider, maybe they do work if your place is already sealed up pretty well. Might have to look into one next year.
