Found out my lazy composting trick actually reduces my trash by 60%
I live in a tiny apartment in Chicago with no yard so I always assumed composting was impossible. Last month I just started throwing veggie scraps into a big plastic tub with some dirt and worms I ordered for $15. After 5 weeks I have actual dirt I can use for my houseplants and my trash only goes out every 10 days instead of twice a week. Anyone else do a small worm bin indoors?

Just forget the liquid next time and call it "worm soup" instead.

Started my worm bin last spring in a studio apartment in Boston, same deal. Those little guys basically ate all my coffee grounds and banana peels and I ended up with this rich soil that made my pothos go crazy. Had to stop after a while though because I kept forgetting to drain the liquid and it got kinda smelly. Thinking about trying again but with a better setup this time.
