A guy at the hardware store in Boise told me his new gas leaf blower was 'saving the planet' because it was more efficient than his old one.
He was completely serious, and it made me realize how many people think a slightly better version of a bad thing is the same as doing something good.

That's a solid point from alice_hart. If his old place was actually burning trash, then yeah, any new spot is an upgrade. Still sounds like a messy situation either way.
