Watching a crew in Boise handle a 40-foot seam with a hot melt tape gun made me switch from my old seaming iron method.
They showed me how the tape's consistent heat from the gun gave a flatter, stronger bond on that long commercial run, so what's your go-to tool for big seams now?

That consistent heat is a game-changer for avoiding cold spots on long runs. Makes me wonder if the gun's speed also reduces the roof's exposure time to morning dew.

Totally get what you mean about the morning dew, @davis.adam. That's a solid point. If you're blasting the heat on fast forward, the roof hits its target temp way before the sun fully comes up. Less time sitting there damp means less chance for moisture to sneak under the shingles before the sealant gets warm and sticky. It basically cuts the window for problems in half. Speed matters just as much as the heat itself for beating the weather.
