Debate time: When you spot a major subfloor issue but the boss says 'install anyway', what's the right call? Sticking to standards or keeping your job? I'm torn.

Oh perfect, so the boss gets the check and you get the callback! Love that plan. Nothing like fixing your own rushed job for free later.

Wtf install anyway? That's how you get callbacks in three months when tiles start cracking or the whole floor feels bouncy. I saw a place where they went over a rotten spot to please the GC, and the homeowner fell right through near the toilet. Bosses who say that are setting you up to take the blame later.

I used to be the guy who would nod and install, figuring the boss had insurance or something. Then we did a laminate job over a spongy subfloor, and within weeks the locks snapped every time you walked on it. The homeowner had to replace the whole floor, and our company got sued. Now I know my name is on that work, and I won't risk it for any paycheck. Seeing a family deal with that mess made it clear: shortcuts aren't worth the trouble.
