My brand new 18v impact driver fell off a roof in Cincinnati yesterday... and landed perfectly in a bucket of water.

Oh man, that's the worst feeling... honestly, skip the rice, it doesn't really pull moisture out. You gotta open it up if you can, pull the battery, and hit the insides with a hair dryer on low heat for a while. The real killer is the mineral stuff left behind after the water dries. I've had a drill take a swim and it was never quite right again, even after drying.

Ouch, that's brutal! I dried mine out with rice for a week and it still works, you try that yet?
