Appreciation post: I thought Japanese pull saws were just a gimmick
My buddy gave me a Suizan ryoba for my birthday last year and I left it in the box for months. Finally used it on a tricky trim job in a tight corner where my regular saw wouldn't fit. The cut was so clean I didn't even need to sand the edge. It's been my go-to for finish work ever since. Has anyone else had a tool they were wrong about? I'm curious what else I might be missing.

My old cordless drill story is just sad.

Ugh, tell me about it. I saw a whole article about how planned obsolescence hits power tools hard now. They build these batteries to die right after the warranty ends, so you're stuck buying a whole new kit. My dad's old drill from the 90s still works on its original battery, but my two-year-old one is already useless. It's such a waste.
