Got a review from my old boss that still sticks with me years later

Back in 2018 my manager at a marketing firm in Austin told me I was too pushy in client meetings and needed to listen more... I was so defensive at first but eventually realized she meant stop talking over people and actually hear what they need. Has anyone else gotten feedback that felt like a personal attack but turned out to be the best advice you ever got?

2009 my first real job boss told me I needed to stop interrupting people and actually let them finish talking - man did that sting at first but she was totally right. @jesse_williams62 I think stuff like that only sticks with you when it comes from someone who actually cared enough to tell you the truth, even if it hurt a little.
