Rant: Prop 47 in my part of San Jose, 2014 vs now
I live off Blossom Hill Rd and I've watched auto break-ins at the VTA lot near me go from maybe 2 or 3 a month in 2013 to the point where a guy at the gas station on Winfield told me he just leaves his doors unlocked so they stop smashing the window. Same lot, same city, 10 years apart. The change lined up right after Prop 47 dropped felony threshold to $950 in 2014, and everyone acts like it's a mystery. Try prosecuting a $900 theft as a felony now and tell me how that works out.
