I finally argued with a landlord about SB 567 at a PTA meeting

Back in February at my kid's school in Fresno, one of the other dads kept saying SB 567 was unfair to property owners. I told him about my aunt in San Jose who got a no-fault eviction notice after 11 years in her duplex, with zero relocation help. He just shrugged and said 'that's business'... I still think about that conversation when people defend the old law.

Did you ask him straight up how he'd feel if it was his mom or aunt getting pushed out after a decade? I had a similar run-in with a landlord who rented to my cousin. I just kept it simple and asked if he'd be okay with his own kid getting evicted with no notice. He got real quiet after that. Sometimes you gotta make it personal for them to see the other side.

Make it hit home exactly like @shanem37 said - when they realize it could be their own family getting forced out, the excuses tend to dry up pretty fast.
