Why does nobody talk about how exterior mounts are underrated?
Honestly, I've started routing cables outside the house for most single-room installs. Ngl, it cuts my time in half and customers rarely notice, but other installers always give me grief for it. What do you guys think?

Spot this all the time in daily life, not just with cables. People focus on what's in front of them and ignore the rest. That's why your outside runs are fine, since customers don't check up there. It's like how we let a small leak go until it becomes a big problem. Getting the job done quick often matters more than how you did it.

Ever get grief from other installers for outside runs? I do it on most single room jobs too. Saves a ton of time fishing walls. Homeowners almost never look up there. Just use weatherproof cable and tidy clips, works fine.

The "almost never look up there" idea is a common life hack. People skip over stuff that's not in their direct view. My car has had a rattling sound for ages, but I only care when it gets worse. Same with the pile of junk behind the couch. If it functions and stays hidden, efficient beats pretty every time.
