The before and after I saw in just 3 weeks on a MDU job
I was running Cat6 through this big apartment building near Baltimore, 4 floors of units. The first week I was rushing, not really paying attention to bend radius or tight spots. By week three, I could already see two runs that had signal drop logs from the switch. The drywall guys had pushed cables into corners and kinked them bad. Now I gotta go back and rerun those, which is about 6 hours of my life I'll never get back. Has anyone else had a project show problems this fast after install?

Yeah, I always pull a test line the same day they start drywall.

Pulling a test line right when drywall starts is the only way to go, @mila_harris. You catch any framing or wiring mistakes before they bury everything behind the walls. Ran into a crew once that didn't do it and had to cut open a whole ceiling for a misplaced outlet box. That job turned into a nightmare real quick. Better to spend ten minutes with a laser level than a day with a sawzall later.

Pull a test line the day they start drywall is good advice but it won't catch the bends from later in the trim phase. Framers and painters can mess up a run even after rock is up.
