That Tuesday in Pittsburgh where everything that could go wrong actually went right for once
I had a day last month where I pulled up to a job in Pittsburgh and the customer had already run all the lines through the attic for me. Found out later he used to be a sparky and just wanted to save some cash. Finished 3 hours early and got paid for the full day. Anyone else ever have a customer actually make the job easier instead of harder?

Wait, did he actually have the lines labeled and everything or was it just a mess of wires in the attic? That kind of thing is rare as hens teeth in my experience, most people just assume you'll figure out their spaghetti wiring. I had a similar thing once where a guy had all his old cables tagged with masking tape and it saved me an hour of tracing stuff.

Oh for sure, "spaghetti wiring" is being generous most of the time. This guy actually had the lines labeled with colored zip ties and a little key taped to the junction box. I was half expecting to find a treasure map up there instead of coax cable.

Did you have to decode the treasure map or did the color coding actually make sense? I swear half the time I find "organized" wiring it's just someone's idea of organized, like my sock drawer. At least you didn't have to play "follow the mystery wire" through three walls like I did last week.
