Just picked up a trick from a veteran installer at the supply house
I was at the supply house grabbing some RG6 yesterday and an old timer showed me how he strips cable with just his teeth in a pinch. Said it saves him 10 minutes per job when his crimper is buried in the truck. Anyone else got a weird shortcut like that?

Tried that once with some old coax in a pinch. Ended up with a mouthful of copper braid and a cut inside my lip that took a week to heal. The guy at urgent care asked if I'd been in a fight with a robot. Now I just keep a spare pair of snips in the glovebox, under the passenger seat, and another one in the kitchen junk drawer for when the truck really is buried. Stripping wire with your teeth is one of those things that works great until it doesn't, and then you're explaining to your kid why dad's lip looks like a busted tomato.

Nah man, I've got a matching scar on my tongue from doing the same thing with some cheap solid copper. Thought I was being slick saving a trip to the truck, ended up spending twenty minutes picking metal flakes out of my gums in the bathroom mirror. Now I just tie a beater knife to the leg of my ladder so I'm never stuck without something to cut with.

Real talk though, what's the worst infection or cut you've gotten from using your mouth as a tool on jobsite materials? Because I swear half the old timers I've met have some gnarly scar story from chewing on cable or prying open paint cans with their teeth.
