Visited my gram's old kitchen in Columbus and her burn marks are still on the ceiling
Went back to my grandma's house last month after she passed, and the same scorch spot above the stove is still there, probably 40 years old now. She used to cook everything in this beat up cast iron skillet she got in the 70s, and one time she forgot about bacon while we watched the Price is Right, it caught fire and she just waved a dish towel at it. That smoke stain became a family landmark, we joked it was her cooking signature. It got me thinking about how we all have those little kitchen scars, burnt countertops or warped pans, that tell our real stories better than any fancy gadget. Does anyone else have a permanent reminder of a cooking disaster that you actually kinda love now?

Man, that ceiling stain is the realest thing I've heard all week. My old apartment still has this weird sideways dent in the fridge door from when I tried to catch a falling jar of pickles and missed completely, just slammed the door backwards with my elbow. Every time I opened it for months I'd see that dent and remember how dumb that moment was, and now I kind of miss it since I moved out.

Wait, you dented a fridge door with your elbow, @taylor_miller10? That's wild, I've never heard that one before.
