Bought a fancy digital meat thermometer and lost it somewhere in my junk drawer after 2 uses

Wasted $45 on that bluetooth meat thermometer from the cooking store last month and now I just poke my roast with a clean finger like a normal person so when my wife asked where it went I honestly had no idea has anyone else thrown money at a gadget you only needed once?

Is it just me or do we all keep buying these fancy kitchen gadgets thinking they'll change how we cook? In my experience, that digital stuff usually ends up in a drawer or gets tossed after a few uses. Your mileage may vary, but I've noticed most people stick with the simple tools long term.
