My sister insisted I ditch the weekly spread for a rolling daily list

I tried it for a month and my productivity actually went up, which surprised me. What's one piece of advice that seemed wrong but worked for you?

My friend told me to stop making detailed meal plans and just keep a list of five easy dinners on the fridge. I thought it would lead to more takeout, but it actually cut my stress in half on weeknights. I wasn't locked into a specific meal on a specific day. If I was tired, I'd pick the simplest option from the list. Why do we make things so complicated for ourselves?

Forget the list, you need the full schedule. That list just gives you five new ways to fail.

Hold up, I gotta push back on this. That loose system would crash my life into a wall. My brain needs the structure of a detailed weekly plan. If I just had five dinners on a list, I'd stare at it and still order pizza because deciding in the moment is the worst. The weekly spread tells me to thaw chicken on Tuesday, so I do it. Without that lock in, I'd waste mental energy every single night trying to pick something, and the groceries would go bad. Some of us need the guardrails to function.
