My laser level died mid-pour in Dallas, had to wing it

Set up a 40-foot foundation form at a residential job off Loop 12. Batteries gave out at 2 p.m., right before the concrete truck rolled up. I grabbed a string line and a 6-foot level from my truck, worked slower but we caught every high spot. Anyone else ever lose a tool at the worst second and just make it work with old school gear?

Kick the old tech up front before anything else fails. Strings never need charging. Lesson learned, right?

Ain't it wild how a dead battery reminds you why string lines still got a place in the truck?
