The envelope method but with freezer bags
I kept blowing my grocery budget because I'd grab takeout on nights I was too tired to cook. So I started meal prepping 5 freezer bag dinners every Sunday for $45 total, and now I just thaw and dump. Anyone else have a lazy-proof budgeting hack that actually sticks?

Wait, you can actually freeze the bags without them exploding? I tried this once and my freezer looked like a crime scene with marinara sauce everywhere. My lazy hack is just buying those pre-chopped veggie packs from the store even though I know I'm paying the "lazy tax" on them. But honestly, it beats throwing out a whole bag of slimy peppers I never chopped. Also, I keep a bag of frozen meatballs in the freezer at all times for nights when even thawing feels like too much work.

Does that bag trick work with like soups or just stuff that's thick? I tried freezing chili once in a ziploc and it leaked all over my ice trays... took me weeks to get the beef taste out of my ice cubes. My "can't fail" lazy hack is just keeping a jar of peanut butter and a loaf of bread around at all times for nights I've got zero energy... works even when I'm too tired to thaw anything.
