Spent $80 on a fancy meal planning app and it actually backfired

It's funny how we think spending money will fix our problems but half the time it just adds a new layer of stress. That app probably made you feel like you had to use it perfectly or you wasted your money, which is the opposite of helpful. Same thing happens with those fancy gym memberships or expensive planners people buy in January. We convince ourselves the tool will do the work for us, but really it just makes us feel guilty when real life gets in the way. At some point you just gotta realize that a free notepad and a little bit of grace works better than any overpriced system.

Hannahm39's comment hit me right in the guilt because I've had so many "help yourself" plans backfire spectacularly. Last month I bought a fancy meal prep app for $70 and it literally told me I was wasting money by not using ALL the weird ingredients it suggested. I spent an hour crying over a $12 bag of chia seeds that I'll NEVER use again. For real, my free notepad and I are doing just fine now, thanks.
