Why does nobody talk about the hidden fees on those cheap bus tickets?
Honestly, last week I booked a $15 ticket from Chicago to Milwaukee on one of those discount bus sites. Tbh, when I got to the station, they hit me with a $8 'boarding fee' and a $5 'bag surcharge' because my backpack was a few inches over their limit. Ngl, I had to pay an extra $13 just to get on the bus, which almost doubled the price. Has anyone else run into this with a specific company they can name so I can avoid them next time?

That $13 extra is annoying but it's not exactly a secret. Those fees are always listed in the booking process if you click through all the pages. It's just the standard way these budget companies operate to advertise a low base fare.

I booked a trip with GoBus to Cleveland last month and the final price was exactly what I saw online... I always check the full breakdown before I pay. Those extra fees are usually listed in the terms if you scroll down. It feels sneaky, but I guess they count on people not reading the fine print.
