Got stuck at a train station in Budapest for 4 hours

My overnight bus from Vienna dropped me off at 3 AM and the next train to Prague didn't come until 7. Ended up sleeping on a bench in the cold because I didn't want to waste cash on a hostel for just a few hours. Has anyone else found a cheap trick for surviving those awkward gaps between rides?

Sleeping in a 24 hour McDonald's or a late night cafe is a good move if you can find one close to the station. I've done the bench thing too and it sucks, especially when the security guard gives you the stink eye every hour. Way better to grab a coffee and nurse it for two hours while you nap on a booth table, just make sure you set an alarm so you don't miss your train.

Honestly not sure why you'd need a plan for this, just stay awake.

Grabbed a coffee at a 24 hour diner near the station and it saved me, @finley_price24 staying awake is way harder than just getting a warm spot with a table for your head. Set a phone alarm for 15 minutes before my train and nobody bothered me at all.
