The moment I realized I was buying cheap drip coffee filters wrong
Used to grab whatever generic basket filters were on sale at the grocery store, like $2 for a pack of 200. They'd always tear or slow down my pour over, took me years to connect the dots. Switched to Melitta brand ones from a restaurant supply store last month, $4 for 100 but zero issues. The paper's thicker and actually fits my Chemex without folding sideways. Now I save money because I don't waste coffee grounds from a busted filter. Anyone else find that one thing you skimped on was actually costing you more in the long run?

So you think spending twice as much on filter paper is "saving money"? I've been using the cheap $2 store brand for years and my coffee tastes fine, never had a tear once.

Hey @mary_foster92, are you testing how many broken filters it takes to make the $2 "savings" worth it?
