That $9 travel router finally made sense for motel wifi
I'm on the road every other week for work, and I got sick of paying $15 a night for hotel internet that kicked me off every hour. Picked up a cheap GL.iNET travel router off Amazon for $9 on sale, figured it was a gamble. Plugged it into the motel's ethernet port in the room, set up my own password, and suddenly my laptop and phone both stayed connected for the whole 3-day stay. Anyone else carry their own router just to dodge those crappy hotel login pages?

Just keep in mind that motel ethernet port might not always be active or easy to reach, your mileage may vary.
