Just realized my local grocery store's 'budget' section went from a sad corner to a whole aisle in under a year.

The shift happened after they started tracking what items people were price-matching on their apps, so now they stock those exact brands and sizes, which honestly feels a bit like they're just giving up on trying to sell the expensive stuff first.

Tracking what people price-match is a new level of brutal honesty. They basically looked at the data and said "fine, you win, here's the cheap stuff.

Yeah that "fine, you win" part is so true... they just gave up and made it the regular price. Saves everyone the hassle of asking I guess.

Reminds me of when a local store just started putting clearance stickers on things that never sold. They stopped trying to make them seem cool and just admitted they were the leftover junk. Kind of the same energy.
