Threw $250 at a used mortar mixer and it almost killed my back
Picked up a beat-up 1990s mixer off Craigslist thinking it would speed up my garage wall job, but it seized up after 4 loads and threw mud everywhere. Ended up renting a proper one for $70 a day that actually worked. Anyone else get burned buying cheap used gear that looked like a deal?

Man I just watched a video the other day about how those old mortar mixers can be super hit or miss, some guy had one fling mud halfway across his yard. Sounds like you dodged a bullet spending on a rental instead of fighting that thing.

Saw a buddy's rental throw a chunk through his shed window.

That sucks. Nothing worse than a tool turning on you like that.
