TIL reading the last chapter first can save a book club
Our group in Austin kept arguing about pacing for 3 months, two members almost quit. I started skimming the final chapter before we met, just to see where things land, and it completely changed how I frame my questions. Instead of debating whether the middle dragged, we talked about if the ending earned that slow build. It sounds like cheating but it works, anyone else try this or have a better hack for steering a chaotic discussion?

Oh man, the "reads the last chapter first" thing drives me nuts. My sister does this every single time and I just don't get it. She says she needs to know how it ends before she can relax and enjoy the ride, which kind of defeats the whole point if you ask me. I tried it once with a mystery novel and it ruined everything, I already knew who did it by chapter two. Some people just want spoilers I guess, lol.
