Heard someone say on a podcast that big fantasy books are basically a commitment like a tv series now. 700 pages is wild though, lol. Reminds me of when I tried reading "The Way of Kings" and just gave up halfway, there's only so many magic system rules I can keep track of. Bet half your book club lied and just watched the movie or read a summary online, classic move.
