TIL that old timer at the union hall was right about torch tips

My first week on a job in Gary, this grizzled boiler guy told me to always use a size 2 tip for tube cutting instead of the 3 I grabbed, said it would save me cleanup time. I ignored him and spent 45 minutes grinding off slag while he finished his cut in 15 minutes. Has anyone else had a senior hand give them advice that seemed dumb but turned out golden?

Right about torch tips" - my grandpa told me the same thing about size 2s, lol.

I read somewhere that size 2s actually produce a hotter flame than people expect, so your grandpa knew what he was talking about.

Grandpas and @the_wyatt both know their fire better than I know my own kitchen.
