I never expected a sheep card to be the highlight of our game night

Last Saturday, I got my family to play Settlers of Catan with me. My dad, who usually avoids games, decided to join. He misheard the rule about trading sheep and thought he needed to collect them all. For two hours, he only focused on getting sheep cards, ignoring everything else. We all laughed so much when he showed his big pile of sheep. In the end, he did not win, but everyone had fun and wants to play again. It was a small win for me as the host, seeing everyone enjoy a game together.

That part about your dad trying to collect them all is honestly the best. Those weird, specific memories from game night are what make it so good. It is not really about who wins at all. Getting everyone to have fun together is the whole point. Sounds like you pulled it off perfectly.
