Peanut butter and hot sauce sandwich was a mistake I made last Tuesday

I was out of jelly and saw a bottle of Sriracha sitting there. Dumb idea but I went for it anyway. The heat just made the peanut butter taste greasy and weird. I got through three bites before I tossed it in the trash. My roommate walked in and asked why the kitchen smelled like a Thai restaurant mixed with a PB&J. Has anyone else tried something this bad on a sandwich?

Peanut butter and sriracha actually works if you use the right proportions, but three bites means you already figured out it doesn't. The trick is using a tiny amount of hot sauce mixed into the peanut butter first, not just slapping it on like jelly. Sounds like you went way too heavy with the sriracha and learned the hard way.

@rowanharris probably nailed it with the mixing tip, but my genius brain just went "sriracha = spicy jelly" and full-sent it onto the bread. Guess I learned I'm not a fusion chef, just a menace in the kitchen.
