My trusty old Park Tool cone wrench finally gave up the ghost yesterday
I was adjusting a hub on a vintage Peugeot, putting a bit of torque on the 15mm cone, and the wrench just snapped clean in half. It was my dad's from the 90s, so it had seen some action. I had to finish the job with a small adjustable wrench, which was a pain. Anyone have a favorite brand for a replacement, or is it just time to buy another Park?

Seems like everything made back then just lasted longer, you know?

Ever notice how we fix less stuff now because it's cheaper to just buy new? Planned obsolescence is real, so companies have no reason to make things that last. It's a different business model, not better materials.

Remember when a toaster lasted 20 years?

Yeah, my parents' old fridge is still running after thirty years.
