Scored a full set of vintage Pyrex bowls for $12 at a garage sale in Oak Park last Saturday

I was just driving by and saw this little old lady setting out her stuff on the lawn, not even a sign up yet. She had a whole box of them under a table, all four nesting bowls with the gooseberry pattern, no chips or cracks. Anybody else ever find their best stuff at sales that weren't even advertised?

Did you get a chance to look at the rest of her stuff? I swear, the unadvertised sales are always the best. I stopped at one last summer, just a handwritten sign on a mailbox, and found a crate of old vinyl records for a dollar each. Ended up with a first pressing of Rumours and some old jazz albums, all in perfect shape. The guy was just cleaning out his dad's garage, didn't even know what he had.

The gooseberry pattern, huh..." No chips or cracks? That's wild. Did you ask the lady why she was selling them for so cheap?

My buddy ran into something similar last year with an old lady selling a full set of Pyrex mixing bowls for like twenty bucks. Said the bowls looked brand new. He asked why so cheap and she goes "well, they're just old bowls, aren't they?" People really don't know sometimes. Makes you wonder what else is sitting in attics across town. @bennett.vera I bet that flea market has got some hidden gems too.
