Just realized my neighbor's garage sale pricing makes zero sense
Ran into Mrs. Kowalski last Saturday and she told me she prices her old kitchen stuff higher than Goodwill because "someone will pay for quality." How is a chipped casserole dish from 1985 worth $15 when I can get a new one for $12 at Target?

That whole mindset bleeds into so many things though. Garage sale logic is basically the same as people who list their 10 year old couch on Facebook Marketplace for $200 because they "paid $2000 for it new." Like the price tag you saw a decade ago somehow still applies now. It's the same energy as people who won't throw away an empty jar because it's "too nice." We've all got this weird mental math where our own stuff is automatically worth more than someone else's because we remember paying full price for it once.

$15 for a chipped casserole dish from 1985? That's wild. I mean, what's she thinking, that a chipped dish has some kind of vintage charm tax? People get so attached to their own junk, like if they just ask enough, someone will see the value they see. It's funny though, @davis.adam you're exactly right about that mental math thing where our stuff is suddenly worth more just because we bought it once. Mrs. Kowalski might be holding out for some antique dealer to show up, but that dish is headed straight for a landfill if she doesn't drop the price.
