Switched from spray bottles to a hot towel steamer for neck hair cleanups

I used to just mist the back of the neck with plain water and a spray bottle before cleaning up stray hairs. Then about 3 weeks ago I grabbed a cheap hot towel steamer off a coworker who was quitting the business. Now I wrap a warm towel around the neck for 30 seconds before the razor pass, and the hair practically falls off with zero irritation. Has anyone else tried heat versus just moisture back there?

Spit my coffee out reading this because I literally just went through the same thing. I was the dummy using cold water and a spray bottle for years thinking I was being clever. Tried a hot towel once and now I feel like I owe the towel an apology for all the cold shoulder treatment. It’s not even close. Heat opens everything up like magic. Moisture alone is like showing up to a party with no music. You must feel like you upgraded from a flip phone to a smartphone or am I overhyping this?

Wait, are you seriously telling me hot water is better than cold for stains? That's like saying you should cook a salad. Heat sets stains in, everyone knows that. I've been using ice cold water and a spray bottle for decades, and my clothes look fine. Hot towels just make the stain spread and bond deeper into the fabric. You're basically baking the mess in. Moisture alone does the job if you let it soak long enough. Heat is overkill and ruins delicate fabrics. You're overhyping a gimmick that'll wreck your favorite shirt.

@the_alice you nailed it with the flip phone to smartphone comparison. Heat just works better in a lot of daily tasks people don't think about, from cleaning up neck hair to even relaxing tight muscles after a long day. Moisture alone does part of the job but heat pushes it over the finish line like a cherry on top.
