Shoutout to the guy who pushed me to try a straight razor shave

I was sure it was just a gimmick for show, but after he did my neckline with one in Chicago last month, the finish is way cleaner. Anyone else made the switch and have a good blade brand to start with?

Feather blades are sharp, but Astra Platinums are way more forgiving for beginners.

My barber in Philly swears by Feather blades. They're stupid sharp but give a great shave once you get the hang of it.

My buddy in Denver tried a straight razor after his barber talked him into it. He cut himself pretty bad with a Feather blade, so I agree with @sandraflores that a milder blade is smarter to learn on. He switched to a Derby blade and his shaves got way better without the blood.
