Spent 30 minutes looking for my bench scraper while it was in my hand the whole time

I was making a big batch of scones and convinced myself it was in the sink with the dirty dishes, but nope, I was gripping it while digging through the drawer. Has anyone else just stood there frozen over a missing tool that's literally in your palm?

That's technically not lost, it's just misplaced in plain sight. Scones will do that to a person though, lots of butter and flour flying around.

Misplaced in plain sight" is pretty much how I live my life tbh. My friend did this exact thing with her phone once, she was standing in her kitchen yelling at her husband to call her so she could find it and he's just standing there like "babe you're literally holding it up to your ear". She didn't believe him for a solid 10 seconds and kept looking around the room before finally looking at her hand and just going "oh". It was so funny I still bring it up years later. Scones definitely have some kind of hypnotic power over us I swear.
