That $200 stand mixer almost ended up on Facebook Marketplace
Last Thursday my dough hook got stuck mid mix and I was ready to junk the whole thing. Talked to a repair guy at the local shop who fixed it for $45 and showed me it was just a stripped gear. Anyone else almost give up on a mixer that just needed a little love?

Did you replace that gear yourself or have a shop do it?

Yeesh, I feel that pain. I almost chunked my KitchenAid last year because it started making this AWFUL grinding noise. Took it apart and found a dime one of my kids dropped in there wedged against the gears. $0 fix but I was THIS close to buying a whole new one.
