Rant: My sister said leave cookies in the oven an extra 2 minutes and now my kitchen smells like burnt sugar

Honestly, she swore her recipe needed more time for the chewy texture, but I pulled out a tray of charcoal discs at 8pm last night. Has anyone else had a relative's baking tip totally backfire?

That "extra 2 minutes" thing reminds me how people always underestimate small changes until they ruin everything.

The opposite take is that most small changes are harmless, and people remember the few that blow up while ignoring the hundreds that don't matter. A two minute delay rarely ruins anything unless the whole plan was already fragile. Most of the time, you adjust, you move on, and you forget it ever happened. It only becomes a problem when someone turns a tiny hiccup into a drama fest, which says more about them than the change itself. Overthinking every small shift is how you get nothing done.
