Debate: Is it better to vent about a bad day or just laugh it off?

I was scrolling through a psychology article yesterday and found this stat that surprised me: venting actually increases stress levels for 70% of people because it makes you relive the crappy moment. On the other hand, I had a buddy who swears by blowing off steam over beers after a rough shift at the job site, says it keeps him sane. So which side is right for a Bad Day Boosters vibe? Do you let it out or try to find the funny in the fail first?

snorted coffee out my nose" oh man, that brings back a memory. I did that once with hot tea and it burned so bad I thought I was gonna die, plus my sinuses felt weird for like an hour. The worst part is trying to clean it up without anyone noticing, you know? My buddy still brings it up at parties, says I looked like a cartoon character.
