I finally got a perfect blend on a silver metallic using a $5 spray bottle from the hardware store.
Sprayed a light mist of reducer over the panel right after the base coat, before the clear. Anyone else try this on tricky metallics?

Been there with the metallic struggle. That reducer mist trick is solid for getting the flakes to lay flat before you lock them in with clear. For candy paints, you gotta be more careful. The reducer can mess with the candy toner and make it blotchy. A super light mist of just the intercoat clear works better to settle the big flakes without messing up the color. Lets you keep building up those candy layers nice and even.

Wait, reducer mist on candy paint? That's wild.
