My 'Ask Anything' post hit 1,000 comments overnight and I'm a bit freaked out

I posted a simple question about finding old forum threads here three days ago, and I woke up this morning to see the comment count at 1,023. It was just a random thing I was curious about, but it blew up into this huge talk about internet history. Has anyone else had a post get way bigger than they ever thought it would?

My buddy's dog video got like 10 views total. It's like the internet just picked one to ignore, kinda like your cat video, @reese_nelson. He was so mad.
