The one weird trick for de-clumping brown sugar actually worked
I got tired of wasting money on new bags of brown sugar every time the old one turned into a brick. Found this tip last month where you toss a slice of bread in the container with the sugar and seal it tight. After about 6 hours it was soft again, like brand new. Anyone else tried this or got a better method for keeping it soft longer?

Can't believe I never thought of that. I've been doing the microwave trick with a damp paper towel for years and it works but it's so temporary. The bread method sounds way better for keeping it good long term. I'm definitely trying this with my next bag. Such a simple fix for something that drives me nuts every time I bake.

Start throwing a slice of white bread in the bag with your cookies and you'll be surprised how long they stay soft... @terryk28 it works way better than the microwave trick and you don't have to keep reheating them every time.

Two slices of homemade sourdough kept my chocolate chip cookies soft for almost a week, so I can vouch for this trick @terryk28. The bread just pulls the extra moisture out of the air in the bag better than any reheating method I've tried. It's wild how something so simple works that well without any effort.
