My credit card bill is basically a receipt for that quick mood boost. It's like paying for a tiny firework that goes off in your brain when the box arrives. Then you're just left with another cord organizer and the same old feelings, but with less money. The whole system is built on that two-day shipping high.

Saw a study last year that said something like 70% of people feel a quick mood boost from buying something new. It fades fast though, like a sugar rush. Makes you wonder if the chase for that feeling is what they're really selling. The whole thing is set up to keep you clicking and spending.
